Solwood Successfully Completes MELP Audit on Labour and Workplace Safety

Officials from the Federal Ministry of Employment, Labour and Productivity (MELP) conducted an on‑site audit at Solwood’s facility to evaluate labour practices, workplace safety systems, and emergency preparedness measures. The visit formed part of routine regulatory inspections and provided a detailed review of how these systems are implemented across our operations.

Scope of the Audit

The MELP audit focused on three key areas critical to employee welfare and regulatory compliance:

  • Labour Practices and Workplace Safety Systems
  • A comprehensive review was carried out to evaluate adherence to labour regulations, occupational health standards, and workplace safety policies. This included an assessment of existing systems, procedures, and on‑ground implementation.

  • Emergency Preparedness and Training Records
  • Inspectors examined Solwood’s emergency response frameworks, safety drills, and employee training records to ensure preparedness for potential incidents and alignment with national safety guidelines.

  • Compliance Status and Corrective Actions
  • The audit also reviewed previously identified actions and evaluated ongoing efforts to strengthen compliance and continuous improvement.

Solwood’s continuous investment in people‑centred practices, safe working environments, and transparent operations are beyond regulatory requirements. We believe that strong labour practices are foundational to sustainable forestry and long‑term value creation and we remain committed to them.

We will continue to review and enhance our systems in line with evolving regulations and international best practices. Audits such as this play a crucial role in strengthening accountability, driving improvement, and reinforcing our promise to operate responsibly across all aspects of our business.

We thank the Federal Ministry of Employment, Labour and Productivity for their guidance and engagement throughout the audit process.
