Solwood hosted the Ministry of Labour for Workplace Safety and Welfare Assessment

As part of ongoing regulatory engagement and labour compliance, Solwood hosted a visit from the Ministry of Labour, Ondo State Branch, on 9 January 2026. The assessment reviewed workplace safety practices, employee welfare measures, and compliance with statutory employment requirements.

The visit formed part of the Ministry’s routine oversight activities and provided an important opportunity to review our workplace practices, safety systems, and employee welfare standards.

Focus of the Ministry of Labour Visit

The inspection was comprehensive and centered on ensuring compliance with statutory labour and workplace safety requirements. Key areas reviewed during the visit included:

  • Workplace safety and staff welfare assessment, covering physical working conditions, safety measures, and general employee wellbeing
  • Review of employment records to confirm proper documentation and regulatory compliance
  • Verification of safety induction processes, ensuring that employees receive appropriate training and orientation before undertaking their roles

These areas are critical to fostering a secure, compliant, and productive work environment.

The Ministry of Labour expressed appreciation for Solwood’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) structure, acknowledging the systems and controls in place to safeguard our workforce.

The feedback received reinforces our belief that regular assessments are essential to maintaining strong safety and labour standards.
